Can I Reinstall Android?

ok … a smart pone is a miniaturized computer .. ok ? it has all essential PC hardware (cpu ram graphics chip set) and an OS.
i recently got a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc LT15i running Android 2.3.4
it comes , unfortunately , with a crap load of standard apps ( facebook , gmail , and other shitty apps). we all know on 2.3.4 you can’t uninstall those without rooting the phone which voids the warranty ( rooting gives you the power to mess around with sistem files/folders right?) .. i think it is normal since if you break it then it’s your fault.
i was wondering if you can reinstall the OS , from a PC , just like you do with windows when you get viruses n stuff?

    Yes you can re-install the original OS on the phone. I do this all the time for friends. But it’s easier to remember to back a complete backup of the OS, copy it to the computer and then restore the backup when/if you need to, for warranty work.
