i have just had a phone call from someone who says they are from windows corporation and that my computer has a virus that could stop it from working they wanted me to switch on my computer and press some keys i didn’t do it because wouldn’t have thought that microsoft would contact me like this they wouldn’t give me a phone number has anyone else had this happen to them

I’d look at the call display, and do a reverse search. It’s probably a bored nerdy acquaintance of yours, playing a practical joke.
Or, look in the front pages of your telephone book for the star codes. *67, *69, *93, etc. One of them will tell you the number of the last person who called. Might cost you $0.25 on your next phone bill though.
If you played along (pretended to do as requested), you could write down what they ask you to do, then google it to see what it really does.
Microsoft only ever calls me when I’ve put in a service request with them and even then they always reference the case number and confirm the problem I’m having before they ask me to do anything.
They would never call you and tell you that there was a virus on your computer, that’s pretty ridiculous.
No but most likely someone trying to get you to do somethings on your computer so they can get into it or something. Unless you called Microsoft or emailed them asking for help don’t do what they say.
It’s a scam. It’s someone trying to steal your personal information. Microsoft would never do anything
like that. I don’t know why they think people would fall for that?
Definitely a scam. Microsoft will never call you.
It’s a scam, don’t do anything and tell your friends/family not to do anything if they get contacted either.
