Email Viruses Sent To My Email?

By mobile virus Posted in: phone virus

Every week I get several emails from a neighbor asking me to start a business or give them my bank account. OBVIOUSLY this is a virus. I promptly delete the email and do not do anything with the message. I have texted, phoned and emailed my neighbor telling them about the problem. They never respond to any forms of communications. I added the email address to my blocked emails in Yahoo but still continue to get the messages. Is there anything more that I can do to get them to stop being sent?

It’s likely that the emails are coming from a machine other than your neighbor’s so they can do nothing about the problem.
Most e-mail viruses use a technique called “e-mail spoofing” to hide their real origin. What happens is the virus infects someone’s machine. It goes through the machine’s e-mail book and randomly picks names for the “to” and “from” fields and then sends the spam mail. So, the virus infected machine is likely another one that has you and your neighbor in the e-mail address book.
EDIT: Probably not. You need to find the infected machine which could even be in another state.
