   here is the answer According to a series of breathless warnings that are currently rocketing around Facebook and other social media sites, KiK Messenger is actually a “hacking” scheme and a virus that can steal personal information from your phone. The message advises users to delete the app and pass on the information to warn others.
   However, the claims in the “warnings” are utter nonsense. KiK is a perfectly legitimate multi-platform messaging application for smartphones that was launched in October 2010. It is in no way malicious. It is not a virus, nor is it a “hacking scheme” that allows hackers to steal information from your phone.
   Moreover, the warning was not aired on Sky News as claimed in the message. In fact, no credible news or security outlet has any mention of KiK being a hacker tool. There are, however plenty of articles discussing the merits of the app. And, KiK has become one of the leaders in its field with over 6 million users.
   Given that the application has been reviewed and tested at length by a great many smartphone experts since its 2010 release, it is simply absurd to suggest that, somehow, the supposed sinister hacking abilities of the app were overlooked. And, KiK is freely available via the app stores of the major smartphones, including iPhone, Android, and Nokia. If the app was malicious, it would have long since been removed from these app stores.
   Thus, these warnings are utterly without substance and spreading them further will help nobody.

   my friend downloaded kik yesterday, everything seemed fine she had all her contacts and files until today when her whole phone was wiped! her memory card had completely messed up. i’m not too sure weather to download it or not because i don’t want that to happen to my phone. personally i think it is a virus for ipods/ipads/iphones and blackberrys! so if you download it please let me know!    I got a message off my friends on my blackberry when I downloaded it saying things like , Kik is 2 Professional Japanese Hackers , so I deleted it as soon as I found out. If I am honest with you I think you should delete it if it is crashing but its up to you, Hope I have helped you in any of the slightest way! xo

   It’s not a virus because apple don’t allow viruses to be downloaded to ur phone & cheak them before hand BUT when u first make an account it does go through ur contacts without ur permission to see if any of your friends have kik & they recommend u to add them.

   i downloaded kik like two days ago and my mate did to i dont have bbm on my bb 8520 but my mate does and her crashed but i did not delete it and all my mates say it has a virus it is worth searching on the internet and youtube to find an answer

   yes it is a virus. I was listening to my music on my iphone 4s and playing my games then i downloaded it and it deleted all my music and crashed all my apps

   Kik is a virus i worked on this the last few days and when i got it my screen went all fuzzy and my device went really slow. Also Kik can get your personally information from your device.

   Naah KIK ain’t a virus. It’s a good app. I don’t even think it’s possible to get a ‘virus’ as such on iOS devices. Back up then restore your device and everything should be working fine

   I asked my dad this cause he’s in IT and he said no but download it onto ur laptop and scan it so I I’m scanning it now but both my iPod and bb 8520 are working fine

    it isnt approved by rim so you cant get it on blackberry app world because its un-trusted
