I recieved a call from “Microsoft” wanting me to “clean” my laptop from viruses. Didn’t even sound if it was legit, so I hangup on them.

How would microsoft know if you have virues just use microsoft security essintials for free it was a scam
Good for you, my friend. It’s a well known scam. They either convince you that your computer has come up as being infected, or they ask you to allow them access to your computer where they’ll purposely infect your computer then request that you pay them to remove something that they’ve put there in the first place.
This is a scam! I have been called twice by these @#$#$#$ people and they are persistant to say the least.
I told both of them that I knew that this was a scam and that they were criminals and would be reported as soon as I hung up….response……click!
